Disaster Recovery Center in Boardman, Mahoning
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The State of Ohio and FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Boardman will close at the end of its regular business day on Thursday, Aug. 15. It will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 as a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) operated by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
The Disaster Loan Outreach Center location is:

Open Mondays-Fridays, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Closed Saturdays and Sundays
It will operate until further notice.
FEMA Teams in Jackson County August 15-20 to Share Repair, Rebuilding Advice
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – FEMA’s mitigation experts are visiting Kansas City in Jackson County August 15-20 to offer home-improvement tips on rebuilding better and stronger after this year’s severe storms in Missouri.
The team will also share proven methods to prevent or reduce damage from a disaster. Most of the information and free publications are aimed at general contractors and those willing to take on do-it-yourself projects.

FEMA awards $2.7 million to Orange County for project to reduce future flood damage
AUSTIN, Texas – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded over $2.7 million to Orange County through the Texas Division of Emergency Management to fund a project to acquire and demolish 20 structures impacted by flooding from Hurricane Harvey that may be at risk from future flood events.
Acquiring and demolishing these properties will provide an effective, long-term solution to mitigate the risks and prevent future flood losses.
Help Available for Missouri Residents Feeling Stress After Disasters
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The state of Missouri has received federal funding for a program that provides counseling for residents feeling stressed or overwhelmed because of the April 29-July 5 storms and flooding.
Fact Sheet: Recovery Through FEMA Direct Housing
In the 11 months following Hurricane Florence, 656 displaced families have been housed through FEMA’s Direct Housing program. As of Aug. 12, 253 households have successfully moved on to more permanent housing by completing repairs or finding alternative arrangements.

Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $1,128,905 for the State of Florida to help defray the costs of debris removal for Hurricane Irma from Highway District 2 under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.

FEMA Awards City of Tampa Nearly $4.5 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $4,485,900 for the State of Florida to help the City of Tampa defray the costs of responding to Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA funds will reimburse the city for the cost of overtime worked by police, firefighters, and other city employees to prepare for the storm’s arrival, assist with the evacuation of residents, clear debris from roadways, and enforce a curfew in addition to their regular duties. Contractors also provided services during the period between Sept. 4 and Oct. 18, 2017.

Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $1,280,705 for the State of Florida to help Marion County defray the costs of responding to Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA funds will reimburse the county for the cost of overtime worked by firefighters, road crews, and other city employees to prepare for the storm’s arrival, set up and operate an emergency operations center, clear debris from roadways, and maintain generators in addition to their regular duties. Contractors also provided services during the period between Sept. 4 and Oct. 18, 2017.

ORLANDO, Fla. – FEMA has approved $3,111,147 for the State of Florida to help Lake County defray the costs of debris removal for Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA Awards City of Tallahassee Nearly $1.3 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $1,252,632 for the State of Florida to help the City of Tallahassee defray the costs of restoring electrical service following Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA funds will reimburse the city for the cost of contractors, other utilities’ workers, and city employees to repair damage to the city’s electrical grid caused by Irma, including replacing 26 poles, 14 transformers, a switch, and 2,700 feet of wire damaged by wind, debris, or falling trees during the storm.

Hours Change at Montgomery Recovery Center
COLUMBUS, OH – The Montgomery County Disaster Recovery Center (DRC), run jointly by the State of Ohio and FEMA, will change its hours of operation beginning Thursday, August 15.
The center’s new hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is located at the Dayton Children’s Hospital in the Child Health Pavilion, 1010 Valley St., Dayton.
