FEMA Awards Miami-Dade County More Than $16.7 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
Orlando, Fla. – Miami-Dade County will receive a $16,705,524.97 grant through FEMA’s Public Assistance Program to help defray the costs of debris removal in response to Hurricane Irma.
On August 23, 2019 the President approved a cost share adjustment authorizing Federal funding for Public Assistance at 90 percent of total eligible costs under FEMA-4337-DR-FL declared for Hurricane Irma. The $16.7 million represents an additional 15 percent for the project, previously awarded at 75 percent of eligible costs.
Less than one week remains for South Texans to register for federal assistance
AUSTIN, Texas – South Texans with damages from the June severe storms and flooding have less than one week to register for FEMA grants to help with housing repairs and rebuilding as well as other needs. The final day to register is Sept. 16.

FEMA Awards Polk County Over $1.1 Million for a Central County Jail Auxiliary Power Generator
Orlando, Fla. – FEMA is awarding Polk County a $1,130,812.50 Hazard Mitigation grant to fund the purchase and installation of a 1,750 kW generator with 6,000-gallon fuel tank at the Polk Central County Jail.
After the installation of the generator, Polk County will be able to continue regular operation of the jail in times of disaster and during future power outages. Funding for this HMGP project is authorized under Section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Act, helping strengthen communities by improving buildings, facilities and infrastructure that people use every day.

These complications, in turn, create misconceptions that can be spread through the news and social media, making it difficult to separate myth from fact. Storm Drain Improvements Increase Flood Protection in La Mesa, CA
Oakland, Calif. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) granted $1.3 million to La Mesa, California for storm drain improvements that increase flood protection for area residents.
Federal Grants, Loans, Insurance Payments for Missouri Recovery Top $60 Million
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – More than $60 million in federal grants, loans and insurance payments have now gone to Missourians to assist in the recovery from this spring and summer’s flooding and tornadoes.

FEMA Reimburses Department of Transportation $9.8M for Hurricane Michael Expenses
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — FEMA has approved a $9,842,926 grant to the state of Florida that will reimburse the Florida Department of Transportation (DOT) for the costs of debris removal in Jackson County following Hurricane Michael under FEMA’s Public Assistance program.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – FEMA has approved $15,709,682 to the state of Florida to assist the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) with reimbursement for management costs following Hurricane Michael in October 2018 under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
