FEMA approves additional $5.3 million for Blountstown

PANAMA CITY, Fla. FEMA has approved $5,294,215 for the state of Florida to reimburse the city of Blountstown for debris removal costs following Hurricane Michael. Disaster-generated debris posed a threat to public health, safety, natural resources and tourism.

FEMA Awards Town of Lake Park Nearly $3.5 Million to Improve Lake Shore Drive Drainage System

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Town of Lake Park will receive nearly $3.5 million in federal grant money for the drainage system surrounding Lake Shore Drive. This project will improve existing drainage and address sea level rise due to storm surge, king tides and climate change.

Survivors in 33 Municipalities Have Until April 15 to Apply for FEMA Disaster Assistance

Many Resources Available for Tennessee Disaster Survivors

NASHVILLE – One week after the federal disaster declaration, many resources are in place to help Tennesseans recovering from the March 3 tornadoes and severe storms.

Four Disaster Recovery Centers are open in addition to two Mobile Registration Intake Centers. FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance teams have visited more than 2,700 homes in affected communities to provide information about disaster assistance.

COVID-19 Emergency Declaration

On March 13, 2020, the President declared the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic of sufficient severity and magnitude to warrant an emergency declaration for all states, tribes, territories, and the District of Columbia pursuant to section 501 (b) of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, 42 U.S.C. 5121-5207 (the “Stafford Act”).  State, Territorial, Tribal, local government entities and certain private non-profit (PNP) organizations are eligible to apply for Public Assistance.

Cost Share Adjustment allows for $60.9 Million in Additional Funding for WV

FEMA Extends Direct Housing Program in Butte County

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – FEMA has announced a 12-month extension of the temporary housing program in Butte County through May 12, 2021 for Camp Fire survivors – the initial 18-month program was set to conclude May 12, 2020.

Since the 2018 Camp Fire, FEMA has provided temporary housing for 684 displaced Butte County families. In partnership with the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) and local partners, nearly 300 families have found a permanent housing solution.

WASHINGTON – FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Wisconsin to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe winter storm and flooding from Jan. 10-12, 2020.

Federal funding is available to the state, eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by severe winter storm and flooding in Kenosha, Milwaukee and Racine counties.

FEMA Approves Additional Funding for Earthquake Recovery in Puerto Rico

WASHINGTON - On Jan. 16, 2020, President Trump declared that a major disaster existed in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and ordered federal assistance to supplement Commonwealth and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by earthquakes that began on Dec. 28, 2019. The assistance made available in January included grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.

State/FEMA Disaster Recovery Center Will Open in Putnam County

NASHVILLE – The State of Tennessee and FEMA will open a disaster recovery center in Cookeville at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 11.

Disaster recovery centers offer in-person support to individuals and businesses affected by the March 3 severe storms and tornadoes. Recovery specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the state and other interests will be at the centers to talk about available assistance and provide referrals to help with recovery.
