Readiness Workshop for People with Disabilities and the Access and Functional Needs Community
ST. CROIX, U.S. Virgin Islands – The Governor’s Office, the V.I. Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) led a Readiness and Resilience Workshop for People with Disabilities and the Access and Functional Needs Community in Christiansted.
State/FEMA Disaster Recovery Center Opens in Madison
SIOUX FALLS, SD – The State of South Dakota and FEMA have opened a disaster recovery center in Madison to offer face-to-face support to individuals and businesses impacted by the tornadoes, severe storms and flooding from September 9-26. This is the first center to open; additional locations around the state will be announced later. The center is located at:

FEMA Offers Free Rebuilding Tips at Local Home Improvement Stores
AUSTIN, Texas – Disaster survivors affected by the severe storms and floods from Tropical Storm Imelda, can visit local home improvement stores in Houston and Pasadena from Monday, Nov. 25, to Saturday, Nov. 30, for rebuilding tips from mitigation experts. Mitigation specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be on hand to answer questions about home repair, making disaster plans, putting together supply kits and the importance of flood insurance.

AUSTIN, Texas – Maddie and Charles Peddycoart know more about the costs associated with flood recovery than most. In the 19 years they’ve lived in their home in Hamshire, TX — about 60 miles east of Houston and 27 miles southwest of Beaumont — it has been flooded by storms four times: Hurricanes Rita (2005), Ike (2008), Harvey (2017) and Tropical Storm Imelda (2019). Rita and Ike left about 2 inches of water at the ground level of their home; they recovered quickly.
FEMA Approves $52 Million for the Replacement of Herbert Hoover High School
The State of West Virginia will receive $52,304,385.75 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the replacement of Herbert Hoover High School, which was damaged as a result of FEMA-DR-4273-WV (Severe Storms, Flooding, Landslides and Mudslides).
Register with FEMA for Potential Federal Recovery Aid
PIERRE, SD – Residents of 11 South Dakota counties and two reservations may now register with FEMA. Registration opens the door to a number of federal disaster assistance programs, as well as referrals to other forms of aid.
Residents who suffered damage from the tornadoes, severe storms or flooding in Brookings, Charles Mix, Davison, Hanson, Hutchinson, Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, Moody, Yankton counties and the Flandreau and Yankton Indian Reservations are eligible to register.

Today is Last Day to Apply for Storm, Flooding Assistance from FEMA
JACKSON, Miss. -You have until 11:59 p.m. (ET) tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 19 to apply for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
If your home or apartment is in Clay, Humphreys, Issaquena, Lowndes, Monroe, Sharkey, Warren or Yazoo county, and you experienced damage related to last February’s storms, you may qualify for a federal grant to help pay your storm-related expenses. But today is the last day you can register!

FEMA Obligates Over $3.7 Million in Additional Federal Grants to Coamo and Salinas
GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – FEMA has awarded over $3.7 million in additional funds to Coamo and Salinas municipalities to cover costs related to Hurricane María.
These awards bring the amount of funds obligated under FEMA’s Public Assistance program to nearly $6 billion.
