FEMA Awards City of Dania Beach More Than $1.8 Million To Harden City Hall Building Against Storms

ORLANDO, Fla. – The City of Dania Beach will receive a more than $1.8 million federal grant to make its city hall building – which also houses the city’s emergency operations center – more resistant to wind damage and to install a back-up generator.

Hours Change at Montgomery Recovery Center

COLUMBUS, OH – The Montgomery County Disaster Recovery Center (DRC), run jointly by the State of Ohio and FEMA, will change its hours of operation beginning Thursday, August 15.

The center’s new hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is located at the Dayton Children’s Hospital in the Child Health Pavilion, 1010 Valley St., Dayton.

FEMA or SBA May Cover Your Uninsured Losses

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahomans who have experienced damage during the recent severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding between May 7 – June 9 should apply for FEMA assistance even if they have insurance. Also, some survivors may be eligible for a low-interest loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) which can also cover uninsured losses.

Flood Insurance an Important Resource for South Dakotans

PIERRE, S.D. – It won’t happen to me.

Many South Dakotans may believe they don’t need to buy flood insurance. Their house has never flooded before. They don’t live in a high-risk flood zone.

But flooding this year in South Dakota has demonstrated that much of the damage can occur in areas not considered especially at risk and a flood insurance policy is a sound investment. One inch of floodwater can cause up to $25,000 of damage in a home.

AmeriCorps Volunteers Flocked to Iowa in Its Time of Need

One Month Remains to Register for Disaster Assistance

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri residents and business owners affected by the April 29–July 5 severe storms, tornadoes and flooding have until September 9 to apply for federal disaster assistance.

 

Disaster assistance is available from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration, the federal government’s primary source of funding for the long-term rebuilding of disaster-damaged private property.

FEMA awards $5.6 million to the City of Friendswood for acquisition project

FEMA Awards Nearly $1.2M in Public Assistance Grants
