Get free advice on protecting your home from natural disasters

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Free hazard mitigation consultations are available from FEMA representatives by visiting local home improvement stores in Garland, Independence, Mississippi and Washington counties.

Mitigation advisers will be on hand at Home Depot in Fayetteville and Batesville, and Lowe’s in Hot Springs and Blytheville to answer questions about mitigation activities and protecting homes from future disaster-related damage. Topics will include flood insurance and elevating utilities, with most of the information geared toward do-it-yourself work and general contractors.

FEMA Individual Assistance deadline is less than a month away

AUSTIN, Texas – The deadline to register for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is less than one month away. South Texas survivors have until Sept. 16, 2019, to register with FEMA for grants to help with housing repairs and rebuilding as well as other needs.

FEMA Funds L.A. Elementary School's Earthquake Protection

Ten Months After Michael: Public Assistance Grants Flowing; Federal Aid for Panhandle at $1.3B

COLUMBUS, Ohio –Tuesday, September 3 is the deadline to apply for federal disaster assistance from FEMA or for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Disaster Recovery Center Opens in Dawson County

WASHINGTON – FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of New Hampshire to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by a severe storm and flooding on July 11-12, 2019.

Federal funding is available to the state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storm and flooding in Grafton County.

How to File an Appeal for the New Incident Period

You are encouraged to register with FEMA if you live in one of the 26 counties: Andrew, Atchison, Boone, Buchanan, Callaway, Carroll, Chariton, Cole, Greene, Holt, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lewis, Lincoln, Livingston, McDonald, Miller, Newton, Osage, Pike, Platte, Pulaski, St. Charles and Saline.

The deadline to register is Monday, Sept. 9.
