FEMA Streamlines the Registration Process for Nebraskans
On March 21, 2019, the president granted a Major Disaster Declaration for the State of Nebraska triggering the release of federal funds to help people and communities recover from a Severe Winter Storm, Straight-line Winds and Flooding.
To streamline the process for applicants who have uninsured damage from the March storms, FEMA has updated the process for survivors who need to register for disaster assistance.
Help Still Available for California Wildfire Survivors
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – California wildfire survivors from across the state affected by last year’s Camp, Hill and Woolsey fires may still be looking for assistance for various unmet needs. Necessities like food, clothing, health services, employment, crisis counseling, legal assistance and much more are still available from a variety of nonprofit services throughout the state.

Don’t Disqualify Yourself – Register for Disaster Assistance Today!
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Missouri residents with damage from the April 29-July 5 storms and flooding who haven’t yet registered for disaster assistance need to do so before the September 9 deadline.
Find out if you qualify for assistance by registering; only two weeks remain. Let recovery specialists determine your eligibility. Disaster assistance is available from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Repair and Rebuilding Assistance Now Available for Issaquena, Sharkey, Warren and Yazoo County Public Facilities in Mississippi
ATLANTA – Issaquena, Sharkey, Warren and Yazoo counties in Mississippi are now eligible to receive federal funding under FEMA’s Public Assistance program to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, landslides, and mudslides from Feb. 22 – March 29, 2019.
All designated counties could receive federal funding on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities and infrastructure.
Galveston shoring up beaches with help of $13.3 million in FEMA grants
AUSTIN, Texas — Galveston has begun replacing hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of sand that were eroded from its beaches during Hurricane Harvey, working to make the city safer from future storms and bolster its tourism industry.
FEMA’s Public Assistance program is providing 90% of the funding for three Galveston beach restoration projects whose combined cost exceeds $14.8 million. FEMA’s share is over $13.3 million.
FEMA Awards $2.7M in Public Assistance Grants
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — FEMA has approved $2,763,049 to the State of Florida to assist 21 eligible applicants with reimbursement for eligible costs of debris removal, emergency protective measures, management costs and permanent repairs for Hurricane Michael under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.

Two years after Harvey, flood insurance is still a smart investment
AUSTIN, Texas — August 25, the second anniversary of Hurricane Harvey’s landfall along the Texas coast, is a great reminder to buy or renew a policy with the National Flood Insurance Program.

Okfuskee County Added to Disaster Declaration for Public Assistance Funding
OKLAHOMA CITY – Okfuskee County has been added to the federal disaster declaration issued for Oklahoma on July 12 for the severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding that occurred April 30 to May 1. Okfuskee is now eligible to apply for FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) funding to supplement state and local recovery efforts.
Group Flood Insurance Policies Issued for June 2016 Flood Expire August 24, 2019 ‒ Purchase Standard Flood Insurance Now
PHILADELPHIA – Over 500 West Virginia citizens were provided three-year Group Flood Insurance Policy (GFIP) certificates as part of their federal aid package following the June 2016 flooding disaster. These certificates will expire on August 24, 2019.
Fulton rebuilding fishing pier, convention center destroyed by Hurricane Harvey
AUSTIN, Texas — The Town of Fulton will begin rebuilding the 1,200-foot Fulton Fishing Pier this Saturday alongside the new Fulton Convention Center—Paws and Taws Building, which workers began erecting late last month. The two structures’ reopening, slated for January, will mark a milestone in the recovery of a town devastated by Hurricane Harvey two years ago.
FEMA Announces Funding Awards for Fiscal Year 2019 Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program
