PHILADELPHIA – Today, the Federal Emergency Management Agency Region III, in partnership with the State of Delaware, hosted a Delaware Flood Insurance Partners Roundtable Event in Dover, DE.

LINCOLN, NE - At the request of Gov. Pete Ricketts, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has extended the incident period in which disaster-caused damage may be covered. The presidential disaster declaration, issued March 21,2019, originally covered the period from March 9 to April 1. With the extension, additional uninsured damage sustained through July 14 may now be eligible for FEMA assistance and U.S.

OKLAHOMA CITY – Four more counties in Oklahoma are now eligible to apply for FEMA’s Public Assistance funding to supplement state and local recovery efforts in areas that sustained damage from the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding between May 7 and June 9, 2019.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – A FEMA disaster recovery center will open for three days in Carroll County starting Friday, August 16, to provide one-on-one assistance to Missouri residents affected by spring flooding, severe storms and tornadoes.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The State of Ohio and FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Boardman will close at the end of its regular business day on Thursday, Aug. 15. It will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 as a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) operated by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

AUSTIN, Texas – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded over $2.7 million to Orange County through the Texas Division of Emergency Management to fund a project to acquire and demolish 20 structures impacted by flooding from Hurricane Harvey that may be at risk from future flood events.

Acquiring and demolishing these properties will provide an effective, long-term solution to mitigate the risks and prevent future flood losses.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The state of Missouri has received federal funding for a program that provides counseling for residents feeling stressed or overwhelmed because of the April 29-July 5 storms and flooding.

In the 11 months following Hurricane Florence, 656 displaced families have been housed through FEMA’s Direct Housing program. As of Aug. 12, 253 households have successfully moved on to more permanent housing by completing repairs or finding alternative arrangements.

Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $1,128,905 for the State of Florida to help defray the costs of debris removal for Hurricane Irma from Highway District 2 under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.

Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $1,808,889 for the State of Florida to help the City of Coral Springs defray the costs of responding to Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.

FEMA funds will reimburse the city for the cost of overtime worked by police, firefighters, and other city employees to prepare for the storm’s arrival, assist with the evacuation of residents, clear debris from roadways, and enforce a curfew in addition to their regular duties. Contractors also provided services during the period between Sept. 4 and Oct. 18, 2017.

FEMA funds will reimburse the county for the cost of overtime worked by firefighters, road crews, and other city employees to prepare for the storm’s arrival, set up and operate an emergency operations center, clear debris from roadways, and maintain generators in addition to their regular duties. Contractors also provided services during the period between Sept. 4 and Oct. 18, 2017.

ORLANDO, Fla. – FEMA has approved $3,111,147 for the State of Florida to help Lake County defray the costs of debris removal for Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.

Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $1,252,632 for the State of Florida to help the City of Tallahassee defray the costs of restoring electrical service following Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.

FEMA funds will reimburse the city for the cost of contractors, other utilities’ workers, and city employees to repair damage to the city’s electrical grid caused by Irma, including replacing 26 poles, 14 transformers, a switch, and 2,700 feet of wire damaged by wind, debris, or falling trees during the storm.
