AUSTIN, TX – Survivors who registered with FEMA for disaster assistance because they were affected by Tropical Storm Imelda will receive a determination letter explaining the eligibility decision and the reason for that decision. Texas residents in disaster-declared counties whose wells or septic systems were damaged by Tropical Storm Imelda, may be eligible for financial help from FEMA. Septic systems and wells are generally not covered by flood insurance.

AUSTIN, Texas –The National Flood Insurance Program has paid over $280 million to Texas policyholders six weeks after Tropical Storm Imelda impacted the state. Of that, nearly $82 million are from advance payments on flood insurance claims. Advance payments can be dispersed in as little as five days to help kick-start recovery.
