ORLANDO, Fla. - FEMA has approved $25,697,214 for the State of Florida to help numerous south Florida communities defray the costs of responding to and cleaning up from Hurricane Irma under FEMA's Public Assistance Program.
The grants consist of:
FEMA Awards Central Florida Communities Nearly $5 Million For Hurricane Irma Expenses
ORLANDO, Fla. – FEMA has approved $4,983,293 for the State of Florida to help central Florida communities defray the costs of cleaning up from Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
The grants consist of:
FEMA Awards Palm Beach Area Communities Nearly $4.3 Million For Hurricane Irma Expenses
ORLANDO, Fla. – FEMA has approved $4,276,104 for the State of Florida to help central Florida communities defray the costs of cleaning up from Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.

FEMA Awards Tampa/St. Petersburg Communities More Than $24 Million For Hurricane Irma Expenses
ORLANDO, Fla. – FEMA has approved $24,602,864 for the State of Florida to help Tampa/St. Petersburg-area communities defray the costs of responding to and cleaning up from Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.

WASHINGTON—Today, FEMA announced that Acting Administrator Pete Gaynor has appointed 15 members to FEMA’s National Advisory Council (NAC).
FEMA Obligates Over $29.4 Million in Additional Federal Grants to Puerto Rico
GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – FEMA has awarded roughly $29.4 million in additional funds to Puerto Rico to cover costs related to Hurricane María.
These awards bring the amount of funds obligated under FEMA’s Public Assistance program to $5.9 billion.
The latest grants are as follows:
FEMA Awards South Florida Water Management District More Than $4.1 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
ORLANDO, Fla. – FEMA has approved $ 4,101,135 for the State of Florida to help the South Florida Water Management District defray the costs of debris removal for Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA funds will reimburse the 16-county water district for the collection, reduction and disposal of debris throughout its service area between Sept. 18 and Oct. 17, 2017 following the September 2017 storm. During that time period, contractors gathered 13,303 cubic yards of vegetative debris from canals for disposal.
FEMA Awards Naples Nearly $2.5 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
ORLANDO, Fla. – FEMA has approved $2,472,046 for the State of Florida to help the City of Naples defray the costs of responding to Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA funds will reimburse the City of Naples for overtime for first responders and city employees and for emergency measures enacted between Sept. 4 and Oct. 3, 2017. During that time period, an emergency operations center was set up and staffed, and steps were taken to protect public safety and to maintain city public works.
Disaster Recovery Centers Opening in Montgomery and Liberty Counties
AUSTIN, Texas – Joint state/federal Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) will be opening Wednesday, October 16 at New Caney in Montgomery County and Thursday, October 17 at Liberty in Liberty County to help disaster survivors affected by Tropical Storm Imelda.
Disaster Recovery Center Opens in Orange County to Help Imelda Survivors
AUSTIN, Texas – A joint state/federal Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will be opening Monday, Oct. 14, in Orange County to help disaster survivors affected by Tropical Storm Imelda.
