FEMA Approves $1,606,065.75 to the town of Brookfield, Connecticut
REGION 1 – The town of Brookfield will receive $1,204,542,56 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the costs incurred for debris removal operations as a result of Severe Storms, Tornadoes and Straight-line Winds event from May 15, 2018.
This funding is a result of a partnership between FEMA and the State of Connecticut Emergency Management Agency.
FEMA Approves more than $2.3 million to the town of Hamden, Connecticut
REGION 1 – The town of Hamden will receive more than $2.3 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the costs incurred for debris removal operations as a result of Severe Storms, Tornadoes and Straight-line Winds event from May 15, 2018. A Presidential declaration was declared on August 20, 2018.
Community Recovery Centers Scheduled to Close by Early December
GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – As long-term recovery continues, the remaining 10 Community Recovery Centers, known as CRCs, will close on Nov. 21 and Dec. 5.
FEMA Grants Santa Rosa $1M To Ensure Effective Evacuation Routes
Oakland, Calif. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has granted $1 million to the City of Santa Rosa for the installation of battery back-up systems to 175 traffic signals. Recent wildfires and Public Safety Power Shutoffs have highlighted the need to maintain established evacuation routes. When traffic signals lose power, intersections become four-way stops, dramatically slowing evacuations and increasing driver uncertainty.
Don’t Let Misconceptions Stop You from Applying for FEMA Aid
JACKSON, Miss. – If you were affected by the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding which began in February, the last day to register for assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019. You are eligible to apply if you live in Clay, Humphreys, Issaquena, Lowndes, Monroe, Sharkey, Warren, and Yazoo counties.
If your friends experienced damage related to last February’s storms, they may have misconceptions about federal disaster assistance and may assume they are not eligible.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Collier County will receive a $3 million federal grant to install back-up generators at wastewater pumping stations to help them remain operational during severe storms.
Hurricane Harvey Survivors May Apply for Federal Assistance if Affected by Imelda
AUSTIN, TX – Even if you registered for federal assistance because you suffered damage from Hurricane Harvey, you can register for assistance if affected by Tropical Storm Imelda. Federal aid does not stop after applying for, and/or receiving assistance from a single disaster. Assistance may be available if you received assistance from a previous, federally declared disaster.
$1.4 Million Approved for Bay County Hurricane Michael Expenses
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — FEMA has approved $1,433,086 for the state of Florida to reimburse Bay County debris removal activity costs following Hurricane Michael.
Funds will reimburse the county for debris removal from canals and waterways following the October 2018 storm.
