FEMA Awards City of Jacksonville Over $5.2 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $5,213,685.30 to the State of Florida to assist the City of Jacksonville defray the costs of emergency protective measures taken for Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
Funding for this Public Assistance project is authorized under Sections 403 of the Robert T. Stafford Act, reimbursing eligible applicants for the cost of debris removal; life-saving emergency protective measures; and the repair, replacement or restoration of disaster-damaged facilities like buildings, roads and utilities.
FEMA Awards Clay County More Than $3.1 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $3,116,722.33 for the State of Florida to help Clay County defray the costs of debris removal for Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA funds will reimburse the county for the collection, removal and disposal of debris within Clay County between Oct. 18 and Dec. 16, 2017 following the September 2017 storm. During that time period, the county’s personnel and contractors gathered and hauled away 262,015 cubic yards of vegetative debris and 33,105 cubic yards of construction/demolition debris from public rights of way.
FEMA Awards Florida Department of Transportation Over $1.1 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $1,113,258.47 to the State of Florida to assist the Florida Department of Transportation defray the costs of debris removal for Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA funds will reimburse the county for the collection, reduction, disposal and site management of debris following the September 2017 storm.
FEMA Awards Fort Myers Nearly $4.3 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $4,266,802 for the State of Florida to help the City of Fort Myers defray the costs of debris removal for Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA Awards St. Lucie County Over $1.3 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $1,331,937.39 to the State of Florida to assist St. Lucie County defray the costs of debris removal for Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA funds will reimburse the county for the collection, reduction, disposal and site management of debris within St. Lucie County following the September 2017 storm.
FEMA Awards Marion County More Than $9 Million for Hurricane Irma Expenses
Orlando, Fla. – FEMA has approved $9,036,893 for the State of Florida to help Marion County defray the costs of debris removal for Hurricane Irma under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.

Community Recovery Centers Closed on Thursday, July 11
GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – All Community Recovery Centers will be closed Thursday, July 11,2019 due to a FEMA all staff training.
Centers will resume their regular hours of operation on Friday, July 12.

State/FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers Closing in Sioux Falls and Yankton This Saturday
PIERRE, SD – The State of South Dakota and the Federal Emergency Management Agency will close two disaster recovery centers at 6 p.m Central time this Saturday, July 13. The facilities ceasing operation are located at the Southeast Technical Instititute, 2000 N. Career Place in Sioux Falls and the County Emergency Management Building, 807 Capital St. in Yankton.
