FEMA Awards Pinellas County More Than $3.9 Million for Upgraded Traffic Signals
ORLANDO, Fla. – Pinellas County will receive more than $3.9 million in federal grant money to upgrade traffic lights at 16 locations from lights hanging on wires to more wind-resistant ones mounted on metal mast arms.
FEMA Awards Broward County More Than $5 Million To Install Back-up Generators at Homeless Shelters and Strengthen Them Against Wind
ORLANDO, Fla. – Broward County will receive a $5 million federal grant to strengthen two homeless shelters against wind damage and install back-up generators to help them better withstand storms.
FEMA Approves Nearly $1.375 Million for Debris Removal in Connecticut
REGION 1 – More than $1.375 million has been awarded to the Connecticut Department of Transportation for debris removal operations in the wake of the severe storms, tornadoes and straight-line winds of federally-declared disaster DR-4385-CT. This funding is a result of a partnership between FEMA and the Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
Penn State-Berks students help Orange County kids recover during Camp Noah
AUSTIN, Texas – More than two years after Hurricane Harvey hit the Gulf Coast, some children in Orange County are still struggling as they try to deal with loss and change. To help combat these feelings and prepare children for future events, Orange County Disaster Rebuild, a long-term recovery group, sponsored Camp Noah at the North Orange Baptist Church this summer.
FEMA and MEMA Urge Disaster Survivors to Spend Their Disaster Assistance Grants Wisely
JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are reminding disaster survivors that assistance grants should be used only for disaster-related expenses.
Repairs to your home due to damage caused by this year’s severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding should be used as soon as possible. While the assistance is tax free and the grant does not have to be repaid, it must be used solely for recovery expenses.
FEMA Approves Nearly $2,052 Million for Debris Removal in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
REGION 1 – FEMA obligates funding for this project directly to the Commonwealth. It is the Commonwealth's responsibility to ensure that the eligible sub-recipient receive this award. Following the Commonwealth’s review process and upon receipt of appropriate documentation, they will provide funds to the sub-recipient on a reimbursable basis.
Hurricane Dorian Proof of Loss Deadline Approaches for Policyholders
DURHAM, N.C.— National Flood Insurance Program policyholders in North Carolina who had Hurricane Dorian damage have 60 days from their date of loss to file a Proof of Loss.
FEMA remains committed to ensure policyholders receive every dollar their NFIP policy entitles them.
