Public Assistance Approved for Eight More Municipalities

Preliminary Digital Flood Hazard Maps for Collier County Are Ready for Public Viewing

ATLANTA - Residents and property owners in coastal areas of Collier County can view new draft preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) at three upcoming public open houses on March 2-3.

FIRMs show the potential extent and risks of flooding. They will be used to determine flood insurance premiums and building requirements.

Rattled but not Broken: Working Together to Help Puerto Rico Recover

Stockton Receives $958,000 FEMA Grant to Bolster Emergency Services

Application Process for FEMA Youth Preparedness Council Is Open

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico — Teenagers from grades 8 to 11 can apply to participate in FEMA’s Youth Preparedness Council 2020, where they can develop leadership skills, share important preparedness information with their peers and give back to their communities. Get Home Repair Advice Feb. 17-22 at Sears in Mayagüez, Home Depot in Ponce

FEMA mitigation community education and outreach specialists are available Monday, Feb. 17 to Saturday, Feb. 22 in Mayagüez and Ponce.

Lynn Haven approved for $7.3 million to reimburse debris removal costs

PANAMA CITY, Fla. FEMA has approved $7,284,609 for the state of Florida to reimburse the city of Lynn Haven for debris removal costs following Hurricane Michael. Disaster-generated debris posed a threat to public health, safety, natural resources and tourism.

Additional $3.1 million approved for Blountstown

PANAMA CITY, Fla. FEMA has approved two projects ($1,106,063 and $1,955,261) for a total of $3,061,324 for the state of Florida to reimburse the city of Blountstown for recovery expenses following Hurricane Michael.

 

The city is receiving $1,106,063 for public utilities costs including repairs to gas and water utilities, as well as restoration of electrical services citywide.

Mexico Beach approved for $3.6 million

PANAMA CITY, Fla. FEMA has approved an additional $3,566,397 for the state of Florida to reimburse the city of Mexico Beach for the cost of emergency protective measures taken after Hurricane Michael.

 

This grant reimburses the city for repairs to an emergency beach berm following the October 2018 storm, including replacing sand, installing fencing, planting vegetation and building beach access walkways.

FEMA and COR3 Obligate an Additional $63 Million for Recovery Work in Puerto Rico

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – FEMA and the Central Office for Recovery, Reconstruction and Resilience, or COR3, have obligated an additional $63 million in funds for 56 projects related to the recovery and reconstruction of Puerto Rico. These funds were obligated between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6.
