What to Expect After You Register
ATLANTA - If you were impacted by the April 12 tornadoes, severe storms, winds or flooding in Covington, Jefferson Davis or Jones counties, you may be eligible for limited financial assistance from FEMA.
FEMA has programs that may provide some financial assistance for eligible survivors. The financial assistance you may receive will help you get back on your feet and may include assistance for housing and other essential disaster-caused and related needs such as out of pocket childcare and uninsured and out of pocket medical, dental, and funeral expenses.

WASHINGTON – The whole-of-America response to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic continued today, as supplies from a Project Airbridge flight which arrived in Los Angeles were dispersed to hot spots around the nation and National Guardsmen in Guam and Illinois provided their carpentry and medical expertise.
FEMA continues to expedite movement of commercially pre-sourced and commercially procured critical supplies from the global market to medical distributors in various locations across the U.S. through Project Airbridge.
FEMA Approves $4.9 Million for Breathing Machines in Pennsylvania
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will receive $4,999,500.00 from FEMA to include costs associated with the purchase of BiPAP machines to assist those having difficulty breathing as a result of exposure to the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.
FEMA Programs Helping People from Coast to Coast
WASHINGTON - As part of the whole-of-America response to the COVID-19 pandemic, FEMA is working to help disaster survivors, the homeless, and state, local, tribal and territorial governments across the country.
“For the first time in our nation’s history, we have major disaster declarations in every state, five territories and the District of Columbia,” said FEMA Administrator Pete Gaynor. “We’re doing everything in our power to lessen the impact of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of all Americans.”

WASHINGTON – The whole-of-America response to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic continued through the weekend and today, as another FEMA Project Airbridge flight landed in Chicago with critical medical supplies, such as N-95 respirators, surgical masks, gloves and gowns. Meanwhile, U.S. Army National Guardsmen in New York and Atlanta helped support food distribution in their public school districts.
FEMA Recovery Efforts Continue on the Island with Funding Obligations for 155 Projects
Resilience, or COR3, have obligated nearly $20.8 million in funds for 155 projects related to the recovery and reconstruction of Puerto Rico due to Hurricane María. These funds were obligated between April 10 and April 16 and represent the largest number of projects obligated in a given week this year.
Region 7 COVID-19 Fact Sheet
- For the past month, FEMA and other federal agencies have been supporting The White House Coronavirus Task Force as part of a whole of government response to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and protect the public.
- On March 16, 2020, FEMA Region 7 activated its Regional Response Coordination Center in Kansas City, Missouri to provide a coordinated federal response to assist local, state and Tribal partners in the Midwest with COVID-19 efforts.
FEMA Provides $1.5 Million for Ranch Events Center Lease
DENVER – The Federal Emergency Management Agency has provided $1,547,910 to the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management toward leasing the Ranch Events Center in Loveland. The assistance was made available under the major disaster declaration issued March 28 by President Trump.
Two Weeks Remain to Apply for FEMA Assistance in Davidson, Putnam, Wilson Counties
NASHVILLE – Tennesseans who have uninsured losses resulting from the March 3 tornadoes have until May 4, 2020 to register with FEMA for assistance.

FEMA and HHS Share Best Practices for Coronavirus Pandemic Response
WASHINGTON – FEMA and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are collecting and sharing best practices and lessons learned from the whole-of-America response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The best practices are intended to help medical practitioners, emergency managers and other critical stakeholders learn from each other’s approaches and apply solutions to current response and recovery operations.
Mississippi Survivors in Covington, Jefferson Davis and Jones Counties may be eligible for Disaster Assistance
ATLANTA - Families and households in Covington, Jefferson Davis and Jones counties in Mississippi who suffered damage as a result of the severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding that struck these counties on April 12, 2020, may be eligible for disaster assistance from FEMA.
President Trump has declared these counties as a major disaster which makes disaster assistance available to eligible disaster survivors under FEMA’s Individual Assistance Program.

WASHINGTON — FEMA announced that federal emergency aid has been made available to the territory of American Samoa to supplement territorial and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic beginning on Jan. 20, 2020 and continuing.
FEMA Awards more than $7.5 million to Oregon for COVID-19 Response
BOTHELL, Wash. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has provided over $7.5 million to the Oregon Department of Administrative Services for eligible activities related to the COVID-19 response. The funding was made available under major disaster declaration FEMA-DR-4499-OR approved on March 28, 2020.

FEMA Conducting Remote Inspections for Earthquake Survivors
• When survivors apply for FEMA disaster assistance, FEMA typically conducts onsite inspections to verify losses to determine an applicant’s eligibility for the Individuals andHouseholds program.
• However, due to the COVID-19 nationwide emergency and the need to protect the safetyand health of all Americans, FEMA is doing remote inspections for Puerto Rico residentswho sustained damage from the Dec. 28 to Feb. 4 earthquakes.

WASHINGTON – The whole-of-America response to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic continue, as Battelle respirator decontamination units arrived in New Jersey Wednesday. Battelle’s technology has the capacity to decontaminate tens of thousands of N-95 respirators, the type of face masks that are most effective in protecting healthcare workers from the COVID-19 virus.

The President's action makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Covington, Jefferson Davis and Jones counties.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — As Florida continues to recover from Hurricane Michael, FEMA has approved the state’s request to extend financial assistance under the agency’s Individuals and Households Program through July 11, 2020.
