Arkansas/FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers Open in Perry, Crawford and Yell Counties

Little Rock, Arkansas – Disaster recovery centers are opening soon in Houston (Perry County), Mulberry (Crawford County) and Dardanelle (Yell County) to offer in-person support to individuals and businesses in counties included in the Arkansas federal disaster declaration for flooding on the Arkansas River in late May.

FEMA awards $3.3 million for Phase 1 of Fort Bend County Soil Stabilization Project

AUSTIN, Texas – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded $3.3 million to the Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District #7 working with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to fund Phase I of the Fort Bend County Soil Stabilization Project.

Montana Receives FEMA Integration Team

DENVER – Montana recently welcomed the first member of its own FEMA Integration Team (FIT). FITs allow FEMA staff to be directly embedded with state emergency management agencies to provide improved coordination and collaboration. In Montana, the FIT will help Montana Disaster and Emergency Services (DES) stay closely connected with FEMA Region VIII in Denver, Colorado.

Arkansas Residents Urged to Be Cautious When Returning to Flood-Damaged Homes and Businesses

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Returning to a disaster-damaged house or business can present dangers and challenges. That’s why state and federal disaster officials are urging Arkansans to use extra caution when cleaning up flood-damaged properties.  

First and foremost, do not return to disaster-impacted areas until local officials have given the all-clear to do so.

Four Oklahoma Counties Added to Federal Disaster Declaration

Oklahoma City, OK – Four more counties in Oklahoma have been designated for disaster assistance as part of the federal disaster declaration for severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding between May 7 and June 9, 2019.

This announcement brings the total number of counties designated for Individual Assistance to 21 with today's addition of Cherokee, Le Flore, Noble, and Nowata.

Oklahoma Flooding Prompts Insurance Claims, What to Expect During Process

Oklahoma City, OK –– Oklahoma residents with flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program are beginning to make claims on their flood-damaged properties and should be aware of what to expect during the claims process. Statewide, there have been over 578 flood insurance claims since April 1, 2019, with the highest concentration in Tulsa County. Policy holders should follow these steps.

Fact Sheet: FEMA Inspectors and Inspections

FEMA housing inspectors are assisting eligible Oklahoma survivors of the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding that occurred between May 7 and June 9, 2019 by setting appointments with applicants to verify eligible disaster-related damage.

Inspectors are currently making appointments in Canadian, Cherokee, Creek, Delaware, Kay, Le Flore, Logan, Mayes, Muskogee, Noble, Nowata, Okmulgee, Osage, Ottawa, Payne, Pottawatomie, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington counties.

President Donald J. Trump Approves Major Disaster Declaration for the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska

WASHINGTON – FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska to supplement tribal recovery efforts in the areas affected by a severe storms and flooding from March 13 to April 1, 2019.


The President's action makes federal funding available to the tribe on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work resulting from the severe storms and flooding.
Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures for the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska.

Oklahoma City, OK – Joint state/federal Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) are opening Friday, June 14 at Sand Springs in Tulsa County and at Fort Gibson in Muskogee County.
