Arkansas/FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers Closed on July 4th Holiday
Little Rock, Ark. – Arkansas/FEMA Disaster Recovery will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. The centers will resume regular operations on Friday, July 5.
Individuals and business owners who suffered losses in the severe storms and flooding in Arkansas between May 21 and June 14 can visit Disaster Recovery Centers to register for federal assistance and receive in-person support for their recovery needs.
New Hours for Oklahoma Disaster Recovery Centers in Fixed Locations
Oklahoma City, OK – The joint state/federal Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Muskogee, Tulsa, Wagoner, Creek and Payne counties will change their hours of operation starting on Friday, July 5.
The new hours are: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and closed on Sunday.

FEMA grants $10.7 million to Harris County for Criminal Justice Center
AUSTIN, Texas – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded more than $10.7 million to Harris County for repairs, mitigation and remediation to the Harris County Criminal Justice Center following Hurricane Harvey.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — FEMA has approved $3,663,991 to the state of Florida to assist the Florida Department of Health with reimbursement for the costs of emergency protective measures following Hurricane Michael under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA Awards Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission $1.2 Million for Hurricane Michael Expenses
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — FEMA has approved $1,280,577 to the state of Florida to assist the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission with reimbursement for the costs of emergency protective measures following Hurricane Michael under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA Approves $1,434,758 to the Town of Norwich for Roadway Repairs
REGION 1 – The Town of Norwich will receive $1,434,758 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the costs incurred due to damage to the Town’s roadways as a result of a June 29-July1, 2017, severe storm and flooding event. This funding was brought to fruition by a partnership between FEMA and Vermont Emergency Management.
$3.5 Million Announced for N.C. Highway Patrol
DURHAM, N.C. – FEMA and the state of North Carolina are announcing nearly $3.5 million to help the North Carolina Highway Patrol cover Hurricane Florence-related expenses.

DURHAM, N.C. – FEMA and the state of North Carolina are approving more than $7.4 million to reimburse Onslow County for debris removal costs following Hurricane Florence.
FEMA, SBA Deadline Extended to July 16
DES MOINES, Iowa – The deadline for Iowa disaster survivors to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for recovery assistance has been extended to Tuesday, July 16, 2019. The deadline to apply for a low-interest disaster loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) also has been extended to July 16.
Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers Opening in Six Oklahoma Counties
Oklahoma City, OK – Six more state/federal Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) are opening in the following Oklahoma communities: Henryetta (Okmulgee County), Bartlesville (Washington County), Peggs (Cherokee County), Gore (Sequoyah County), Nowata (Nowata County) and Shawnee (Pottawatomie County).
FEMA Awards West Florida Electric Cooperative $1.2 Million for Hurricane Michael Expenses
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — FEMA has approved $1,204,944 to the state of Florida to assist West Florida Electric Cooperative Association with reimbursement for management costs following Hurricane Michael in October 2018 under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA Awards Nearly $890,000 in Public Assistance Grants
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — FEMA has approved $889,896 to the State of Florida to assist 20 eligible applicants with reimbursement for eligible costs of debris removal, emergency protective measures, temporary facilities and permanent repairs for Hurricane Michael under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program.
FEMA Obligates $100 Million to Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority
GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico — Federal funds are helping to lay out the blueprint to turn Puerto Rico into a model of disaster resiliency in the Caribbean.
FEMA has obligated about $100 million in architectural and engineering design funding to the Puerto Electric Power Authority, or PREPA, which is the largest obligation for permanent work so far for damage related to Hurricane María.
Spending FEMA Grants Wisely
Oklahoma City, OK — More than $11.9 million in federal assistance grants have been approved by FEMA to help survivors of the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding that occurred in Oklahoma between May 7 and June 9, 2019.
While assistance is tax free and grants don’t have to be repaid, FEMA urges survivors to use the funds quickly, wisely and only for disaster-related expenses.
