COVID-19 Pandemic: Supply Chain Expansion Line of Effort

Manufacturing expansion is one part of a four-pronged supply chain stabilization approach for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic response. The expansion line of effort is focused on increasing manufacturing production capacity of critical medical supplies and equipment needed to defeat the pandemic and make our Nation stronger and better prepared for future needs.

The Supply Chain Task Force works with U.S. manufacturing companies to rapidly increase supply, expand domestic production of critical resources and to also increase long-term supply through two approaches:

More than $1.8 Million Approved for South Carolina April 13 Storm Survivors

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Less than three weeks after the federal disaster declaration for South Carolina’s April 13 storms, more than $1.8 million in federal disaster assistance has been approved for survivors.

The funds include grants from FEMA and low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – FEMA has obligated nearly $5.4 million in funds for emergency measures and permanent work projects to repair hospitals and healthcare facilities managed by the Puerto Rico Administration of Mental Health and Anti-Addiction Services, known as ASSMCA, by its Spanish acronym.

FEMA Provides $1 Million to the Michigan State Police/Emergency Management Homeland Security Division

CHICAGO - The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that $1,058,537 in federal funding has been made available to Michigan State Police/Emergency Management Homeland Security Division (MSP/EMHSD) for costs associated with the administration of the Public Assistance Grant Program.

Everybody has a right to appeal. Read your determination letter carefully to understand FEMA’s decision and know exactly what you need to do for your appeal. Often applicants just need to submit some extra documents for FEMA to process their application.

Salem, Oregon – If you sustained damage from the severe flooding in Eastern Oregon February 5 – 9, 2020, you should apply for a low-interest disaster loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Disaster survivors who register for assistance with FEMA may be eligible for grants to help pay for renting a place to live until your home can be repaired, to pay for minor structural repairs, replace essential personal property and/or pay for serious disaster-related needs not covered by other programs.

FEMA Authorizes Federal Funds to Help Battle Florida’s 36th Avenue Fire in Collier County

ATLANTA – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency has authorized federal funds to reimburse costs to Florida for 36th Avenue Fire in Collier County.

This authorization makes FEMA grant funding available to reimburse 75 percent of the eligible firefighting costs for managing, mitigating and controlling the fire. Eligible costs can include labor, equipment and supplies used for fighting the fire and costs for emergency work such as evacuations and sheltering, police barricading and traffic control.

President Donald J. Trump Approves Major Disaster Declaration for Arkansas

WASHINGTON — FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of  Arkansas to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes on March 28, 2020.

Federal funding also is available to state, tribal and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storms, straight-line winds and tornadoes in Craighead County.
