It’s Important to Return SBA Loan Application

NASHVILLE – After you apply for disaster assistance from FEMA, you may be referred to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). If you receive an SBA disaster loan application, you should fill it out and return it.

If your application is approved, you are not obligated to accept an SBA loan. But failure to return the application will disqualify you from other possible FEMA assistance, such as disaster-related car repairs, clothing, household items and other expenses.

FEMA Recovery Efforts Continue on the Island with the Obligation of Over $18.7 Million in Additional Funds

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – FEMA and the Central Office for Recovery, Reconstruction and Resilience, or COR3, have obligated an additional $18.7 million in funds for 146 projects related to the recovery and reconstruction of Puerto Rico. These funds were obligated between March 7 and March 19.

DENVER — Turner County flood insurance rate map update is nearing completion. The new maps will provide Turner County with more accurate flood risk information that can help local officials and residents make informed decisions about reducing flood risks and purchasing flood insurance.

The mapping project is part of a nationwide effort led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to increase local knowledge of flood risks and support actions to address and reduce those risks.

Survivors can apply online for disaster assistance, such as grants to help pay for temporary housing and home repairs, by creating an account at DisasterAssistance.gov or downloading the FEMA App for smartphones.

Renters Can Apply for FEMA Assistance

NASHVILLE – Renters in Davidson, Putnam and Wilson counties whose homes and property were damaged by the tornadoes and severe storms March 3 can apply for federal disaster assistance.

FEMA Individual Assistance is available to renters, including students, as well as homeowners. Federal grants can help pay for temporary housing. The initial rental grant is for a 60-day period and can be reviewed for further assistance. The deadline to register for federal aid is May 4, 2020.
