FEMA Provides $1.5 Million for Ranch Events Center Lease
DENVER – The Federal Emergency Management Agency has provided $1,547,910 to the Colorado Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management toward leasing the Ranch Events Center in Loveland. The assistance was made available under the major disaster declaration issued March 28 by President Trump.
Two Weeks Remain to Apply for FEMA Assistance in Davidson, Putnam, Wilson Counties
NASHVILLE – Tennesseans who have uninsured losses resulting from the March 3 tornadoes have until May 4, 2020 to register with FEMA for assistance.

FEMA and HHS Share Best Practices for Coronavirus Pandemic Response
WASHINGTON – FEMA and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are collecting and sharing best practices and lessons learned from the whole-of-America response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The best practices are intended to help medical practitioners, emergency managers and other critical stakeholders learn from each other’s approaches and apply solutions to current response and recovery operations.
Mississippi Survivors in Covington, Jefferson Davis and Jones Counties may be eligible for Disaster Assistance
ATLANTA - Families and households in Covington, Jefferson Davis and Jones counties in Mississippi who suffered damage as a result of the severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding that struck these counties on April 12, 2020, may be eligible for disaster assistance from FEMA.
President Trump has declared these counties as a major disaster which makes disaster assistance available to eligible disaster survivors under FEMA’s Individual Assistance Program.

BOTHELL, Wash. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has provided over $7.5 million to the Oregon Department of Administrative Services for eligible activities related to the COVID-19 response. FEMA Conducting Remote Inspections for Earthquake Survivors
• When survivors apply for FEMA disaster assistance, FEMA typically conducts onsite inspections to verify losses to determine an applicant’s eligibility for the Individuals andHouseholds program.
• However, due to the COVID-19 nationwide emergency and the need to protect the safetyand health of all Americans, FEMA is doing remote inspections for Puerto Rico residentswho sustained damage from the Dec. 28 to Feb. 4 earthquakes.

Battelle’s technology has the capacity to decontaminate tens of thousands of N-95 respirators, the type of face masks that are most effective in protecting healthcare workers from the COVID-19 virus.

The President's action makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Covington, Jefferson Davis and Jones counties.

WASHINGTON – The whole-of-America response to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic continued today, as medical supplies from FEMA’s Project Airbridge flights were distributed nationwide. South Carolina Army National Guardsmen maintained their readiness with medical pre-screening, while medical and nursing students at the Uniformed Services Univ. of the Health and Sciences received COVID-19 training – a new requirement as part of their coursework.
FEMA Publishes Public Notice for the New Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities Grant Program
WASHINGTON – FEMA has published a public notice of proposed policy in the Federal Register outlining the agency’s new Building Resilience Infrastructures and Communities, or BRIC, grant program.
The new program will replace the existing Pre-Disaster Mitigation program. It is envisioned to support states, local communities, tribes and territories as they undertake hazard mitigation projects to reduce the risks they face from disasters while providing proactive investments in community resilience.

WASHINGTON – The whole-of-America response to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic continued today, with more than 7,000 COVID-19 test kits being shipped from South Korea to the United States. Hospital corpsmen on board USNS Mercy are treating non-COVID-19 patients, and National Guardsmen continue supporting response efforts in Connecticut, helping distribute masks, gloves and face shields to local residential care homes, nursing homes and long-term care facilities in North Haven.
