South Carolina: Spend FEMA Grant Wisely
COLUMBIA, S.C. – More than 600 South Carolina households have received FEMA grants to help them recover from the April 13 storms.
It is important to remember that the funds are to be used only for certain disaster-related expenses. FEMA may audit survivors to confirm they spent grants for basic home repairs, replacing essential household items or paying for somewhere to stay if they cannot return home.

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico – FEMA obligated over $1 million to repair sirens that help disseminate key information across long distances during an emergency. These systems produce alerts in case of flash floods, rivers exceeding their embankments and wildfires. FEMA approves $2.3 million in Hurricane Michael Public Assistance grants
PANAMA CITY, Fla. — FEMA has approved two projects totaling more than $2.3 million for the State of Florida to reimburse Bay County and the city of Lynn Haven for eligible costs of permanent repairs following Hurricane Michael.
